I get an email informing me that Sherlock Holmes's coat is now available to buy. It's the one Benedict Cumberbatch modelled to excellent effect in the BBC series Sherlock; it's by Belstaff, it's called Milford and it costs £1,350, which is a hell of a lot of money. But then, it's a hell of a coat. Sharp, yet swishy. Dramatic. Dandy/manly. I really love that coat. I'd buy one for all my lovers, if I could afford to.
Admittedly, I could be somewhat influenced by the fact that I fancy the – well, the coat – off of Benedict Cumberbatch. My crush on him is vast, unlikely, and completely undeniable. It's also shamefully common; half the female population of the UK is similarly afflicted. Cumberbatch is fast becoming the thirtysomething bird's Robert Pattinson. "They should call us Deer Stalkers," texted my friend V. "Shut up, I've got ep three on iPlayer again," I responded. "I really like his nose, don't you?" It's getting a little out of hand.
I would have thought of nothing other than Cumberbatch, if I hadn't suddenly been overwhelmed by a desire to own a leather skater skirt. I mean, consumed by it. It came from nowhere. Well, OK – no fashion impulse comes from nowhere. They start on the catwalk, meander into the mags and shopping sites, and filter into the sub-section of my brain dedicated to coveting stuff passionately via osmosis. The designer Rebecca Minkoff showed a leather pleated skater skirt called Clueless (in homage to the 90s movie classic) as part of her summer 2010 collection. I saw it months back, was vaguely intrigued by it, but only started truly wanting it, on that visceral level, at about 1.40 this afternoon. I Googled it to discover it had sold out in my size, everywhere on the planet. Thwarted!

Kim Clijsters eased into the final of the Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open on Saturday when Ana Ivanovic was forced to retire after completing just three games of their semifinal match.
The fourth-seeded Clijsters was ahead 2-1 in the first set when Ivanovic called it quits because of a left foot injury.
Ivanovic appeared to injure herself while returning a shot. After receiving treatment, she tried to continue but played just two more points before conceding.
Clijsters will try for her third title of 2010 on Sunday against 10th-seeded Russian Maria Sharapova, who outlasted fellow countrywoman Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the night session.
The Belgian star captured her second U.S. Open crown last summer in her return to competitive tennis after a more than two-year absence to start a family, and this year claimed the titles at the season-opener in Brisbane and in Miami.

Throughout this write up, I will be sharing some tips and ideas with regards to choosing cheap skate shoes. I also share here some of my own reviews about the brands so that you will have ideas for better decision making especially to the moms there who are looking for cheap skate shoes to their children.
One of my personal favorites is the NSS N-Paisley. It is a practical choice most especially for beginners for buying this kind. These kinds of shoes are midrange kind and are suitable for the starters in skating. There is nothing so special about the appearance with this one but it is very durable to the fact that it has a strong grip in the ground and also it is very light for the feet which are also plus points for starters because it does not have so much weight.
These are also tripe stitched. One thing that I do not like about it is the thick cap and the side panel that is thin. But these thin side panels would be good for the beginners.
One thing that also caught my attention is the America Reynolds 2. It is a little bit expensive than the Paisley. This is very suitable for skaters since it has good quality. It gives comfort to the feet because of the multilayers of leathers. It also has the triple stitching. The tongue is padded as well as the heel. I think this one that has a classic rock kick in it would never go out of style.
