We all think of EBay when we want something at a bargain price and second hand, same is true for clothing sold on ebay but now ebay is launching its own new fashion microsite come Monday.

So now if you want trendy, fashionable clothing or accessories, think of ebay. EBay is in talks with major fashion brands like Lord & Taylor and Hugo Boss, who will be selling their merchandise on ebay's new microsite called fashion.ebay.com.

Late last year, ebay organised some test flash sales. These were short-term sales of merchandise of a small collection basically. Then early this week, ebay launched "Fashion Vault" which sells trendy clothes and accessories at heavy discounts, competing with private sales like Gilt.com and Ruelala.com.

Then there is an online ebay fashion outlet mall being planned for which it has already got Lord & Taylor and Brooks Brothers. Also being said that shoe brand Aldo will join later this spring.

Lorrie Norrington, president of eBay Marketplaces says, "We're really transforming the experience," and added, "We are playing to our strengths."

EBay is introducing new selling formats in addition to gallery-style photographs and improved search engine for easier browsing and will expand to other categories like technology, media, home and garden etc too.

The fashion clothing website of ebay is poised to put it in direct competition with Amazon.com, Macy's and Target.
